Speaking of the 21st century. The way english speaking people say and write it, it makes no sense. We’re not in the actualy 21 century yet, then why saying it?? I’ve had a hard time with this ever since I learned it at school. In Sweden we say that we’re in the 20th century…since we are. And in the 1900s, we were in the 19th century, and so on.
Dunno about other countries, but in the States we calculate it like this:
0-100 = 1st Century
100-200 = 2nd Century
200-300 = 3rd Century
Etc., etc….
1800-1900 = 19th Century
1900-2000 = 20th Century
2000-2100 = 21th Century
I find it so confusing, lol
Oh, I can imagine :-D
Especially when you’re trying to remember dates in history class. XD
